AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy
AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy incorporates puppy Socialization, Training, Activity, and dog owner Responsibility. This course is designed to begin the training process with puppies, provide crucial socialization opportunities, and address common puppy behavior problems such as house training and nipping. Sit, down, and walking on a loose leash will be introduced. At the end of the course, the instructor will administer the AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy test. Graduates will receive an AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy Medal and an official AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy Package!

Basic Obedience I, II, III
These six-week courses are designed to help handlers and their dogs practice basic commands while increasing distractions and distances. Focus, Sit, Down, Loose Leash Walking, Stay, Come, Touch, and Leave It are the primary concentration. All commands will be needed for the AKC Canine Good Citizen and Public Access Test should you choose to become a AaTs Credentialed Therapy Dog Team. Advanced courses include increasing your dog's response time and focus with even greater distractions and distances.

AKC Canine Good Citizen
The AKC Canine Good Citizen Program is regarded as the gold standard of dog obedience as it verifies that your dog remains friendly, obedient, and calm in a variety of situations. Examples of the ten test items include Accepting a Friendly Stranger, Walking through a Crowd, Reaction to Another Dog, and Supervised Separation. Each test point is explained in detail and practiced until teams feel comfortable, confident, and well-prepared for the final examination which is done by an AKC licensed evaluator. If passed, you will receive a certificate, an official title, and an award ribbon from the American Kennel Club recognizing your achievement!

AKC Community Canine (Advanced CGC)
The AKC Community Canine Program, also known as the Advanced CGC, tests you and your dog's skills in community, real-world settings. This six week course takes place both at the training facility and in the public. Examples of the ten test items include Leave It, Recall with Distractions Present, Dog Allows Person that is Carrying Something to Pet, and Walking on a Loose Leash through a Crowd. If passed, you will receive a certificate and official title from the American Kennel Club!

Tricks Class I, II, III
This exciting course is designed to foster and support a meaningful bond with your dog and to improve upon your canine communication skills all while enjoying a relaxed and fun dog training atmosphere. During class you will learn how to break down complicated tricks into specific parts and how to put each part together in order to complete the trick, which is one method that we use to train working dogs their complex tasks. Therefore, we recommended taking this course if you are planning to do therapy dog work with your dog as tricks are a great way to enhance your visits. Tricks included, but not limited to, are high five, paw/shake, spin, balance treat on nose, and touch. Advanced courses include introductory agility tricks such as weave poles and balance beam and more complicated tasks such as pressing a button and mastering the shell game. After completing the course, you and your dog will be comfortable, confident, and well-prepared to test for the AKC Trick Dog titles.
