AKC Community Canine (Advanced CGC)
Tricks Class I, II, III
This exciting course is designed to foster and support a meaningful bond with your dog and to improve upon your canine communication skills all while enjoying a relaxed and fun dog training atmosphere. During class you will learn how to break down complicated tricks into specific parts and how to put each part together in order to complete the trick, which is one method that we use to train working dogs their complex tasks. Therefore, we recommended taking this course if you are planning to do therapy dog work with your dog as tricks are a great way to enhance your visits. Tricks included, but not limited to, are high five, paw/shake, spin, balance treat on nose, and touch. Advanced courses include introductory agility tricks such as weave poles and balance beam and more complicated tasks such as pressing a button and mastering the shell game. After completing the course, you and your dog will be comfortable, confident, and well-prepared to test for the AKC Trick Dog titles.
4 Weeks: $100.00
By popular demand, AaTs has created a 6 week training program specifically for those that have recently welcomed a dog into their home through adoption, rescue, or foster. The whole family is welcome to join in the training process, too! The objective of this class is to foster a well-rounded and enjoyable family dog.
Phase 1: Two 30 minute private lessons in your home. Taking the time to work one-on-one with a trainer allows the client the opportunity to discuss their dog's individual needs and introduces training and good behavior in the home.
Phase 2: Two 60 minute semi-private or group lessons at the training facility. During this phase, newly adopted dogs come together in a class setting where we continue to reinforce positive behavior while gradually increasing the level of distractions.
Phase 3: Two 60 minute semi-private or group lessons in public. Lesson locations may include a local park or a dog-friendly store. After several weeks of reinforcing desired behavior, we take the class on a field trip to further reinforce and proof good manners.
