Intermediate Obedience with Gina

Intermediate Obedience is a perfect fit after puppy, before CGC, or for teams who have been away from a formal class setting that want to brush up on skills. Gina lays the foundation for AKC Canine Good Citizen test items while also adding in cues that may be beneficial for those wishing to pursue therapy dog work. Weeks 1 & 2 are taught at the training center, followed by a lesson in the public to showcase those commands under increased distractions. Again, weeks 4 & 5 will be at the training center to learn a new set of cues with week 6 in a different public location. Confidence building and fostering a partnership with your dog are goals which are emphasized in this foundational class, with some opportunities for dog socialization as well!
6 Weeks: $225.00

AKC Canine Good Citizen

Picture
The AKC Canine Good Citizen Program is regarded as the gold standard of dog obedience as it verifies that your dog remains friendly, obedient, and calm in a variety of situations. Examples of the ten test items include Accepting a Friendly Stranger, Walking through a Crowd, Reaction to Another Dog, and Supervised Separation. Each test point is explained in detail and practiced until teams feel comfortable, confident, and well-prepared for the final examination which is done by an AKC licensed evaluator. If passed, you will receive a certificate, an official title, and an award ribbon from the American Kennel Club recognizing your achievement!
